Crosslé 90F

An authentic Formula Ford

Pilotage Crosslé 90 F à Charade

Standard version: the Crosslé 90F

The Crosslé 90F is a continuation of the Crosslé 16F, which means that it is a newly manufactured car, based on the same historic model.

In the late 1960s, the Crosslé Car Company, a Northern Irish manufacturer of racing cars, developed the Crosslé 16F to compete in Formula Ford. At the time, this category was a key gateway to Formula One, before other series took over at the beginning of the 21st century. Ayrton Senna, Eddie Irvine and Jenson Button all won the British Formula Ford championship before entering the pinnacle of motorsport.

At the Classic Racing School, you’ll drive a Crosslé 90F. Manufactured since 2016, these cars are built in the Crosslé factory in Belfast using the same tools, plans and techniques as the original cars from the 60s. Slight modifications have been made to improve driving comfort and safety, such as the chassis and the position of the pedals. When you book your driving course at the Classic Racing School, you get ready to be driving a real piece of history!

The Crosslé 90F in numbers

CROSSLÉ 90F, THE HISTORIC SINGLE-SEATER WITHOUT CONSTRAINTS
110HV – 420KG – FORD 2.0L ZETEC ENGINE – 4-SPEED GEARBOX

The Crosslé 90F is a genuine racing car from the 60s that will provide you with unique sensations that cannot be found in modern cars. The strength of this car is its weight/power ratio: only 420 kg for 110 horsepower! This means that it can reach 100 km/h in just four seconds.

Equipped with a Ford 2.0L Zetec engine, the Crosslé 90F can reach a top speed of 210 km/h. On the winding Charade track, drivers flirt with 180 km/h as they approach the Petit Pont corner. Its four-speed Crabot gearbox allows an immediate grip and the fullness of sensations and pleasure from the first turns.

As far as handling is concerned, it’s all about old-fashioned driving: the Crosslé 90F has no wings. The tyres used are Dunlop semi-slicks, which have proven their worth over several decades in competition.

New: in 2023, discover the Formula 3 Crosslé! This single-seater, reserved for drivers who have already completed a racing experience at our school, is equipped with front and rear wings as well as wider tyres for optimal grip in the turns. Equipped with the same engine as the Formula Ford version, our Formula 3 allows unbeatable lap times thanks to its increased aerodynamic charge.
