On July 18th, automobile enthusiasts, lovers of beautiful mechanics, and friends of the Classic Racing School gathered for an unforgettable day through the volcanic landscapes of Cantal. A look back at this 6th edition of the Classic Racing School & Friends charity rally, placed under the banner of conviviality, heritage, and generosity.
It was on the legendary Charade circuit that the crews set off after a breakfast shared by the track. If the first few kilometers took place under a fine rain, the sky quickly cleared to make way for a radiant sun, illuminating the curves of the Auvergne mountains. The carefully thought-out roadbook guided the participants on winding and panoramic roads, punctuated with carefully chosen stops. The atmosphere in the cars was joyful, good-natured, with a nice variety of vehicles, from the most modern to the oldest, all united by a passion for rallying.
First stop at the Château de Val, a majestic fortress perched on the water’s edge, offering an unparalleled view of Lake Bort-les-Orgues. A coffee break in a postcard-perfect setting, perfect for recharging.
Next, we headed to Salers, a village ranked among the most beautiful in France, for lunch at the Le Bailliage restaurant: Auvergne charcuterie, Salers beef coufidou, and truffade delighted the participants in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
The afternoon was marked by the discovery of Adèle’s Mill, a place steeped in tradition where participants were able to learn more about the artisanal production of local oils. A sincere meeting with Adèle and her team, passionate about their region and their expertise.
The route, between valleys, passes, and ridge roads, offered real driving pleasure, notably when crossing the Perthus pass at 1309 meters altitude, made famous by the Tour de France.
The arrival at the brand-new Porsche Center in Clermont-Ferrand marked the end of this day. An ideal place for a festive closing evening: ribeye barbecue, delicious desserts, good music, a collection of exceptional Porsches… and above all, lots of smiles.
Thanks to the generosity of the participants and partners, the charity raffle raised nearly €800 for the Association Petits Princes, which works every day to fulfill the dreams of seriously ill children. A symbolic but precious contribution, driven by everyone’s enthusiasm.
Beyond the route and the landscapes, this rally remains above all a human adventure. Conviviality, mutual aid, shared passion: so many values that contribute to the success of this event year after year.
